How to Kill Mould on Wallpaper

Ideally, remove the wallpaper and apply the treatments to the bare wall, because the Mould tends to be help in the paper itself, or the lining paper,

1. Apply Surface Cleanser to the wall with a sponge - allow to dry completely before painting.

2. Apply one or two coats of Stain and Damp Primer, to prevent show through of residual stain markings. For bad cases apply one or two coats of Spray Stain Sealer, before Priming.

3. Add the Professional Strength AntiMould Paint Additive to your chosen paint and apply as usual.

Then Control Condensation: control the humidity to keep the readings between 55% and 65%.

Controlling the Moisture content of the Air

Use our Home Humidity Meter (Hygrometer) to monitor the moisture content of the air in each affected room as you improve the situation by:

A. Fitting Trickle Vents to all the window frames

B. Installing a wall fan in each affected room, fitted with Heat Recovery, for maximum energy efficiency

C. Installing a roof fan, fitted with Winter Warming facility, to change the air gently in the whole house

D. Installing a Dehumidifier, to remove excessive moisture from the air (as an alternative to the ventilation systems A-C)

Condensation Control - through wall fan with heat recovery, window trickle vent for window frame, roof fan for whole house treatment.
